Description
The water intake of the Flores Canal is on the right bank of the Matriz Canal of Mendoza River, which receives water from the Cipolletti Dam. Throughout its extension, the channeling has gentle gradients and serious problems of infiltration and erosion, consequently it was necessary to complete a third stage of the project.
The lined area was 1,016m, plus the works for 2 crossing bar siphons, a bucket energy dissipater and 10 outlets. The improvements that took place in the lining of the 3rd section of the Flores Canal were aimed to solve operating problems in the outlets, which made it difficult to deliver water to the plots. Gradient improvements were made to prevent the accumulation of sediments on the bottom of the canal, as well as infiltration and erosions concerns.
The project provided a benefit to more than 3,200 hectares cultivated land, located in Perdriel (Luján de Cuyo).
